Enzymes
Advantages of Soaking Enzymes:
- Used as an aid especially for dried skins from hot countries.
- Soaking is faster and enhanced.
- Deeper re-hydration of hides or skins.
- Solubilization effect of the glycoproteins.
- Reduction of soaking time and hide substance is saved.
Advantages of Bating Enzymes:
- Provides perfectly fallen, slippery, clean and porous pelts.
- Enhances the penetration of tanning material and fatliquors.
- Removes scud and natural dirt from hides and skins.
Advantages of Softening Enzymes:
- Strong softening action on folds and wrinkles appearing on skins and hides.
- Improves softness and grain smoothness of leather.
- Improves air and water permeability in upholstery leathers.
Liming Agents
Advantages of Liming Agents:
- Reduction of drawn grain and growth marks without loss of substance
- Helps in uniform penetration of lime, faster liming and cleaner-more uniformly open pelts.
- Mainly used for unsplit pelts from cattle hides.
Wetting Agents
Advantages of Wetting Agents:
- Enhances dehydration of dried hides and skins.
- Facilitates the removal of unwanted protein and impurities.
- Reduces surface tension.
- Improves dyeability, softness and uniformity.
Degreasing Agents
Advantages of Degreasing Agents:
- Especially suitable for degreasing bated sheep skins.
- Accelerates re-hydration of dried hides and skins.
- Used to remove natural fats present in the hides and skins.
- Quick penetration into the hides and skins.
Syntans & Acrylic Resin Syntans
Advantages of Syntans & Acrylic Resin Syntans:
- Mainly used in chroming and tanning process of leather
- Reduces tanning time and gives uniform, pleasant coloured leathers.
- High filling characteristics.
- Used in retannage of all types of leathers.
- Neutralizing mineral tanned leathers.
- Gives silky grain and good lightness of leather.
Fat Liquors
Advantages of Fat Liquors:
- Used to prevent leather from drying into a hard mass.
- Perfectly suitable for production of white & pastel shade leathers.
- It has high degree of lubricating properties.
- Gives very good inner softness with waxy touch.
- Due to its excellent fastness and heat resistance, it does not change the color of the leather.
Preservatives
Advantages of Preservatives:
- It is used to protect wet-blues, wet-whites, crust and vegetable leather against damage caused by mould.
- Used in preservation and protection of pickled hides, chrome tanned leathers, vegetable tanned leathers and finished leathers.
Auxiliaries
Advantages of Auxiliaries:
- Used to improve the resistance, firmness and fullness of leather in chrome retanning.
- Used to prevent over basification in chrome bath process.
- Helps to promote level dyeing and uniform shade.
Lacquers & Binders
Advantages of Lacquers & Binders:
- Lacquers are used over top of the leather colorant, to seal in the top coat, giving the finish an extremely hard wearing surface, protecting it from grime, stains and dirt.
- Binders are used to prevent wastes produced from tanned hides/skins in leather manufacturing.
